1948
Fred. C. Haake Sr., and his wife, Elfriede, open a small shop
Haake Manufacturing officially opens for business in the Haake garage in St. Louis. Trained in Germany as a machinist, Fred sought stability and believed he could provide for his family while delivering parts that met customer needs more reliably than what he had seen in other shops. With just a punch press and a commitment to quality, the couple quickly built a reputation for dependable service and became trusted partners to local manufacturers.
1963
Fred Jr. and Lorraine Haake relocate to a central location
Fred Jr. and Lorraine Haake relocate to DeSoto and expand their stamping capabilities to handle larger projects. The strategic decision to move to a centrally-located facility and to maintain their own trucking company meant they could provide on-time delivery for their customers.
1980s
New partnerships and innovative technology grow Haake’s reputation
By the 1980s, Fred Jr. partnered with Reg Stockwell, a McDonnell Douglas operations engineer with an entrepreneurial vision, to lead the company into its next generation. Reg expanded the manufacturing capacity, and in 1985, they installed their first Trumpf CNC system. By 1989, they added one of the region’s earliest 2000W lasers, positioning Haake as a leader in precision fabrication.
These investments, expanded capabilities beyond traditional stamping and into modern, computerized sheet metal fabrication.
2026+
Strong leadership and state-of the art equipment drive Haake’s future
Today, under the leadership of fourth-generation family member, Jay Rieker, Haake has grown into one of the Midwest’s most respected precision sheet metal fabricators using state-of-the-art equipment — including fiber lasers, robotic welders, and in-house powder coating — so we can deliver faster lead times, tighter tolerances, and consistent quality.

Our Capabilities
Haake Manufacturing offers Precision Custom Sheet Metal Fabrication with state-of-the-art equipment and unparalleled service.
Haake is one of the few job shops in the St. Louis region with punch and laser processing on the same machine. This integrated capability combines forming and contouring with laser cutting in a single workflow, reducing handling, shortening cycle times, and lowering overall production cost.
CNC Punch / Laser
Haake offers metal stamping using AIDA punching cells up to 160 tons, supporting both progressive and single station tooling. Advanced controls, servo feeds, and monitoring systems ensure consistent quality across short and long run production. Additional presses ranging from 5 to 150 tons allow us to support a wide range of stamping requirements.
Metal Stamping
Robotic arc welding (MIG/MAG) of steel, stainless steel, and aluminum is performed using automated welding systems designed for continuous operation. These cells deliver consistent weld quality and are well suited for medium to high volume production runs.
Robotic Welding
Haake provides value added services that deliver production ready parts. Assembly, metal finishing coordination, and hardware insertion reduce supplier handoffs and simplify sourcing for turnkey components.
